The countdown to India is in full swing with just 3 days left until we depart. To say we are excited would be an understatement, but I can say we are as prepared as we can be for a trip to the other side of the planet. And by “prepared” I mean we basically bought Target out of its travel tissues, antibacterial, first aid kits, sun screen, bug spray, Emergen-C, etc. India… We are coming for you, an we are armed with immune systems of steel! No travel bugs for us.
Countdown to India

You lucky things! You will have the time of your life, all your senses will be assaulted, such beauty and richness in India – life is big, bright and in your face! You will come back after your trip and miss the vibe, the pollution, the colour and you will ask yourself – why are there no people here?
One tip I have since learned to help with any gastro related illness, as a preventative take some acidophillus (gut bacteria in a capsule), start taking it straight away – get the type you don’t have to refridgerate.
Second tip take clothes that cover your arms and legs and pack (or buy a beautiful scarf) – very important if you plan to go into temples / mosques – where you will find the most amazing architecture, culture and history.
We went to India several years ago and it is still the best trip we have ever done and we know we will be going back there!
Thanks! And great advice on the acidophillus!
Enjoy your trip and take lots of wonderful pictures to share. Safe travels.
Oh, you know the blog will be flooded with India pics when we return, lol. -Kelsey
This literally made my heart flutter. I’ve been trying to decide on a mission trip for next year with my home church and kept going back and forth between Haiti and India. I decided yesterday, after seeing or hearing about India at least once a day for several days in a row (out of nowhere), that I’d be going to India in October 2013. When I pulled up my Reader in my WP dashboard and saw this as one of the newest posts, I kind of freaked out a little.
I hope your trip is WONDERFUL (though I don’t know the first thing about your story as of right now!) and that you stay safe and have a lovely time!
I’m glad our post helped you with your decision! I’ll share all the details of our trip when we return!
Oh. I hadn’t considered all that. Hope it’s not needed and that your trip is safe and wonderful.
Wow that was really great that you posted that picture! I’m going on a mission trip pretty soon and your picture helped remind me of the things I might need! Thanks so much:)
